Sumaya Hoosen has over 20 years of experience, most of which has been in the field of human resources, change management and leadership. She has gained experience at the larger FMCG and Engineering and Mining companies in South Africa.
Specialising in the fields of organizational development, succession and talent management, learning and career development, strategic planning and implementation. She has created capacity and strategic direction within the organizational performance environment for various organizations, divisions and units. She has held many leadership roles in major organizations.
She is currently a Minister of Education appointed Accounting Authority for the Manufacturing SETA, MerSETA and an Executive Committee member of the Light Engineering Industries Association, LEIA, which is part of the SEIFSA, a Federation of Employers.
She has completed her degree in Industrial Psychology; and is a registered member of the ETDP SETA, as an ODETDP practitioner. She also holds a qualification in Training Management. In addition, she has several in-house organisation focused qualifications. Her in-depth knowledge and understanding of human capital management, competence development and strategic planning and implementation allows her to add an enormous value through her experience.
Her passion is in innovation and entrepreneurship, organizational and leadership development, organizational culture formation, change leadership, with a focus on talent management and creating organizational capacity aligned to strategic direction.
She enjoys developing and spearheading projects that challenge the status quo and pioneer opportunities for new businesses or new ways of doing business.
